PRESIDENT

Dr Jean Poirier
Dr Poirier completed is DMD degree at Montreal university in 1984 with the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon completion, he did military service, where he served with the UN in Cyprus, and after as the dentist of the Citadelle in Quebec city. He finished his residency in oral and maxillo-facial surgery at Laval University in 1995 (Enfant-Jésus Hospital). He then completed his training with a Fellowship in maxillo-facial reconstruction at Mount Sinai Hospital (New York) in 1997, at Jackson Memorial Hospital(Miami) in 1998 and finally at the Sick Children’s ( Toronto) in 1999.
He is a member of the Department of Surgery, ENT division, Medical faculty, University of Montreal since 1995 where he acts as assistant-clinical-professor of maxillo-facial surgery. Since 1999, Dr Poirier is a faculty of AO-North-America and has lectured and chaired at numerous scientific meetings of the association. He was a member of the executive committee of the Quebec association of OMFS from 2003-2019 where he was vice-president from(2005-2013) and president(2013-2017). he was also on the executive committee of the Canadian Association of OMFS.
He has a private practice in Saint-Leonard and Vaudreuil-Dorion and operates at Maisonneuve-Rosemont and Lachine hospitals. Dr Poirier’s OMFS practice covers all fields of the specialty with a special focus on reconstructive orthognatic( Maxillo-mandibular advancement and TMJ surgery.

TREASURER

Dr Normand Aubre
Doctor Normand Aubre completed his doctorate in dental medicine at Université de Montréal in 1977. After eight years of general dentistry, he obtained his certificate in endodontics from the Henry M. Goldman School of Postgraguate Dentistry, Boston University in 1987. Upon his return to Canada, he started his private practice in endodontics in Laval and is still a practicing endodontist to this day. He has been involved with the Canadian Academy of Endodontics in creating the Standard of Practice document, was president of the Québec Endodontists Association, and is joining the executive committee of the Quebec Federation of Dental Specialists.
During his career, he promoted continuing education in endodontics thru many lectures at the Journées Dentaires, around the province and at the international level. Additionally, he was an associate professor at McGill's multidisciplinary residence at the Montreal Children's Hospital for 26 years.
His will to gather members of the dental community has manifest itself by organizing a number of convention at the local, canadian and american level. He is the proud father of three and maintains an active life by travelling and sports.

Michèle Villemure
Holding a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and a master's degree in Biomedical sciences from the Université de Montréal, Ms. Villemure has been working with the FDSQ part-time since 2018. In addition to assisting in the progress of the various projects carried out by the Federation, she is the contact person for the members and the general public, who can reach her via the telephone number and email address of the FDSQ.
